Rewatching this, it actually wasn't as good as I remember -- in stark contrast to The Girl Who Waited which was much better than I had remembered. I think the faith twist is great, like you mentioned it has some good unique characters, and of course the turning point for Amy and the Doctor's relationship is paired well with the previous episode timing-wise. I think there's just some micro things that feel off, like pacing, music choice, etc. Has a lot more jokes than usual too, I feel, not all of them landing either. But overall a solid episode with a good concept and a good thematic core. Your reaction to next week's should be interesting
