2022-11-11 14:59:49 +0000 UTCSo, I have a controversial confession to make. Prior to this episode, this series had not really gripped me like it seems to have for everyone else. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t at risk of dropping the series or anything, it has been certainly entertaining: interesting premise, generally fun characters and obviously good production. Still, it just hadn’t hooked me. But this was the first episode that really reeled me in. Between Denji starting to have a ‘dog-chasing-cars’ experience, a glimpse at Aki’s backstory along with the Gun Devil being set up as a long-term plot point, and the freaky hotel the hunters find themselves in, I was finally beginning to find myself saying “okay, now this has my attention”. Anyways, I’m looking forward to seeing where this develops to!

The Gun Devil’s devastation was different in the manga, showing the actual casualties and how many seconds the Gun Devil occupied each part of the globe. Since it was shown via narration and not actual dialogue from Makima, I think it was a directorial choice to omit it. The data is insane.
