I think father may have a favorite idk haha Hohenheim is one of my favorites and is great we are seeing more of him and his personality. I think episode 40 also didn't have ed but right now is more noticiable since last we saw him he was in bad shape.

Breaking down how the story is building toward an epic endgame--particularly an anime like this that is so condensed and so constantly forward-moving--really makes the experience so much more exciting. And you've made Hohenheim one of my favourite characters, somebody who I overlooked a little more in my watch because he was more enigmatic and aloof. He really gets to shine here and the parallels to Ed that you pointed out are just great. So happy I finally bit the bullet and came over here--keep up the good work!!

2023-02-04 15:45:02 +0000 UTCThe sequence of Hohenheim getting chased down the tunnel by Pride was animated by a Korean animator, Sung-hoo Park, who’s recently gained quite a bit of attention as the director of Jujutsu Kaisen: https://i.imgur.com/VMkAgUv.mp4 The third cut is especially nice - a 100% cel layout. It's not an insanely long loop, but it has some impressive background animation though.
2023-02-04 14:36:51 +0000 UTCI don't believe it was the light in the small tunnel that stopped Pride. As Hohenheim said, he is confined to Central and the large transmutation tunnel. Basically the tunnel is his flask and he can't move past its walls. Also, I found interesting how Hohenheim doesn't seem to have much ability for fighting, or at least he doesn't resort to it right away, instead he runs from Pride and tries to stop him. Eventually he is lucky to fall into the small tunnel.
