Early Access - Monster | Episode 5 "The Girl From Heidelberg" - Reaction & Review

Comments

He has the same reason like any other viewer: It gets you in to the mood for the episode. Its just fun to watch, why should he miss out on that, because some spoiler freaks from the internet stop him to. The ending is also great and has no spoilers at all.

Funny thing, I've seen a lot of Monster live action fan-castings, and Louis Hoffman (Jonas from Dark) usually considered to be one of the best options for Johan's character.

I really don't see how anything in the OP can ruin it for him now that Johan and Nina have been shown. And the reason I wanted him to watch the opening is because of its eerie nature and the presentation aspect of it. The visuals are very random and I certainly doubt how it might ruin the story for him

Child of the forest

Honestly there's no reason for him to watch the opening other to satisfy his own curiosity. It's not like it shows anything flashy or interesting it just a montage of out of order scenes and clips from the series. But if he ever does watch it should definitively be anytime after episode 12. He should keep an eye on the ending though.

I think it's okay for Im to watch the opening now. I don't see anything else in the OP that might ruin his experience of the story

The therapist whose voice actor you did indeed recognise is actually that of the voice actor who plays Askelaad!

well it feels like this is the okay the basic stage is set lets really start now episode. Johan is getting more creepy but also I'm very interested in his character, and let's protect Nina please lol

Nina. Yes I also really like that name 😊😉 She's adorable. And these five episode have been so great. I'm hooked.

Ninaofthe90s

Nina is very adorable, love her to bits...but Johan is literal perfection. They are twins but he has the more "unshakeable and striking looks" almost like a painting that you can't get your eyes off. Very enchanting but also mysterious and dangerous. Love the old vet and his stories about Johan, the submarine situation reminds me of the titanic in recent events. Very tragic but also ironic. Another great episode.

This is probably my favorite episode of the first five. Getting to see Nina's fairly normal life is such a nice change of pace. We've been around the hospital until now, so it's a breath of fresh air to be not only in a different city, but also not in that one building. And yeah she's super likeable which makes the end of the episode so good. Also I love the old gentlemen Tenma talks to about Johan. Not only is the way he tells the story makes the mystery around Johan so great, but you get a real sense of character from that man. His apartment just feels right for the time and someone his age. By the way, you weren't the only one to perk up when Nina's therapist spoke. I instantly recognized the voice as well and I looked it up and indeed it is Askeladd's VA, Naoya Uchida.

The backgrounds in general in this show are absolutely beautiful, but I'm really blown away every time they draw the architecture. Attention to detail is just unmatched. I rate the sound design so highly too, so subtle but really adds a so much. Love the horror sounds that play when Johan's face is on screen, really brings a chill up your spine
