I was really surprised to see David Sylvian's name and hear his voice in the ED when I was watching Monster for the first time. Can't say I know a lot about him and his music but he's a pretty big and influential Western musician, especially in 70-80's. I heard a few albums from his 70-80's band called 'Japan', pretty great art-pop. In the lain of David Bowie and Roxie Music. And apparently he wrote this song for 'Monster' specifically.

Really drawn to everything about it - the setting, the characters up to this point, the music, the sound design, the drawings, the general mood and grounded style... I can't believe I put this show off every time my friends recommended it to me

The OSTs are the exact reason why I ask people to check out the anime for monster. The gripping nature of the plot coupled with the gripping OSTs feels surreal.

2023-07-19 10:48:49 +0000 UTCThat’s the beauty of Urasawa’s writing. Nearly every side characters deserves their own manga. When I think of some of my favourite cast of characters Monster is most definitely on that list. I love whenever you point out anything to do with the sound design. While I do really love the soundtrack, and general production I think Monster’s strongest draw for me as an anime is its sound design. It’s absolutely essential to watch this at least once with headphones. It’s soo damn good! It’s soo exciting to be a Patreon of yours with soo much amazing content and you’re even starting HxH tomorrow too!
