I’ve wrote before that Urasawa is a master of limited appearance characters and this episode is a true testament to his skill in the episodic medium. While Tenma is slowly descending into a darker world he can’t hide the fact that at his core he is a healer. The girl’s laugh and Hugo’s simple “she laughed..” will never fail to bring tears to my eyes. To communicate soo much with one of the characters not speaking once this episode … it’s fantastic work. Rewatching Monster with you is such a treat. There’s soo much phenomenal storytelling ahead. It’s one of the few shows I would genuinely love to wipe my knowledge of it and experience it for the first time again. Oh and I’ve only been to Germany a few times and it’s still a place I’m itching to visit again!

2023-07-29 14:27:41 +0000 UTCOne of my favorites! This one is a tear-jerker for me. It's good to see good things happen to good people and Tenma being a facilitator in all of this. Some individuals can just transcend all kinds of barriers being able unlock hidden emotions amd release anguish or turmoil in others. The primary job of a doctor is to heal people, that's what Tenma does best.

2023-07-29 04:50:19 +0000 UTCI just realised that tenma's grey tracksuit clothing in the scene and the surroundings are very similar to jodie foster's scene and outfit at the beginning of silence of the lambs if my memory is right, or maybe I'm imagining things
