When I started season 2 I hoped I would hear my two favorite tracks from Season 1 "Glory" and "Ahead of the Road". When I heard them both in the same scene, I got so many goosebumps.

2023-08-08 03:16:50 +0000 UTCman.....i know it's so, so bittersweet to see thorfinn raise his fists again, but GODDAMN if it is not one of the most epic moments of the entire series. in a way, the contrast between young and grown thorfinn, one with the iconic dagger of his father and the other now with empty, reluctant fists, is one of the images that really, really shows just how much he has grown and changed. such a simple image but an effective way to add nuance to thorfinn's quest of nonviolence--raising his fists to fight, but in the name of protecting life. and it feels so different, after we've seen these hands throughout this season be reflected, contemplated upon, grow scars and calluses from hard farm work. these are hands that have been reshaped from a killing machine to being 'emptied' (ever since thorfinn dropped the dagger and fell into his depression) and now they are full of the value of life and growth.
