2023-09-16 18:16:08 +0000 UTCMan Arnheid’s whole character is just so fucking tragic, she just had everything ripped from her at every possible turn. You really can’t blame her for wanting to give up. Something that was sadly cut out of the episode is Thorfinn explaining to Einar why he hesitated to tell Arnheid about Vinland. It basically boils down to the fact that she already suffered so much and was no longer afraid of death because of everything she’s experienced. Death was a mercy to her, and Thorfinn was the first person in a long time to really let her make her own choice. But now, he knows what he has to do. He has to find, or build, a place that provides peace and salvation to living beings, and he wants to be able to prove to Arnheid that it’s possible.
