As you already said, when you think about tournaments, it reminds you about Dragonball, yup... there are so many there cuz Japanese people (the main target of mangas) love it way too much. What togashi did here is phenomenal, and the next episode just elevates everything I said... I'll write the rest in the next episode to not put any spoiler here

2023-09-21 11:46:13 +0000 UTCI really like the way Kurapika’s kindness is framed in this arc. He’s gentle and empathetic, but also quite judgey and self-righteous. It makes him feel so damn real, especially when he realizes he himself hasn’t lived up to the high standards he has set for people. For example, apologizing and feeling embarrassed for his rude behaviour towards Leorio in episode 1. A very balanced character that I was pleasantly surprised by, and has remained a solid favourite.
