I've always had a fondness for this episode. I think a bit of it is nostalgia, and it's sort of wish-fulfilment. On rewatch the musical humor cues are a bit much, and I feel a little mixed on how retconned River's knowledge on her timeline is from the library two-parter, but it's a very feel good episode and I love that Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston got to act together. River being in denial of him being the Doctor is always a bit hard to believe, but I like the idea that the regeneration limit is given weight by characters in-universe.
