I've started a bit and ahh it just makes me want to say: I've mentioned it before but I sure hope that you pick up the manga after the anime because I feel like it gives the answers to so many questions you may have about certain characters and where they go from where we last saw them (when the anime is over) as well as many other interesting explorations. I'd just love to know your thoughts. But yes, Yorknew is a fantastic arc and Kurapika is my favorite character and this arc was a big reason for that when I first got into the series. It was a great, concise but impactful arc. I really think the next arc is a pretty fun one and I'm excited for your reactions and discussions to it.

Though I could be wrong about that. Regardless he should definitely check out the manga after finishing the anime.

Just like Shingeki, Togashi is very intentional in his storytelling, every choice is done for a particular purpose. But anyways, hope this doesn't count as a spoiler to you, personally I don't see why it would. Togashi doesnt overlook many things ;) There are some cool interviews that really highlight some of Togashi's characteristics. He's extremely perfectionistic to a fault. If he has a vision he'll try his best to follow through with it, however it may take years, decades perhaps.. sadly.

2024-02-05 08:40:35 +0000 UTCRe: Hisoka's reaction - my personal take is that Hisoka's character draws upon themes of the Jester that we see throughout storytelling. Hisoka is unpredictable, a strong desire one day may mean nothing to him the next. Hisoka is also extremely mysterious, he serves that specific role in the story. Is he psychopathic? Did he have a traumatic past, did he have those who he truly cared for? Who knows. As a "joker" I found his reaction quite fitting and in line with his character archetype thus far.

Also I'd be down to hear you analyse episodes of the Yorknew arc from the 1999 Anime. I wouldn't even mind you spending a few weeks on the 1999 Anime. I'm here for the journey, there is no point rushing to the finish line ;)
