VFX Editing/Cloning Tool
Added 2020-04-14 06:37:37 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
I wanted to let you know, I'm not working on new custom content right now but looking into a new tool that should make it possible to edit and even clone visual effects! Something many people were waiting for for a long time.
The tool itself is still in BETA and can be found here:

I do have to say that it looks incredibly complicated as there are a lot of options and for most of them it's not really clear yet what they do.
Also trying to just simply change a color of an effect is hard, so possibly not very much can be done with it right now but definitely in the future.
A couple of things I'm hoping can be done with this tool for example, is deleting the annoying sound of the crystal rocks I made a while ago. But also, change the glow to a new color so new crystal rock recolors can be made with a matching glow color.
Another thing I hope will be possible is clone certain animal effects to create new species by adding another texture to the mesh. If I find out how that will be possible, I will definitely try to make some other chickens, parrots, toocans, iguanas, maybe even sharks!
As alwasys, if there's something I find out, I will share this with you. ;)
I might start making new custom content too this week, but I want to take some time for the tool first.

Yes, it looks very promising already. It's ashame though that it's that complicated still. I did succeed in cloning the toucan vfx, but can't seem to change the texture yet, so that's a bummer as it's exactly the same as the original vfx now 😅. I will do some more tests today probably.
