Domestic Violence Awareness! (And How You Matter!)

(Sorry for the non-typical posts lately I will be back to posting mods soon I promise! <3)

My mom is doing great, and my grandma’s finally home and feeling a lot better. Watching my mom’s strength through everything has inspired me a million times over.

I recently got my car insured (after Spongebobing around for 10 years without a license 😂), which means I can finally start building the foundation for one of my dreams, a small but hopefully large impact I can make after seeing my mom's experience: a small nonprofit that helps women transition out of domestic violence shelters.

My plan is to create and sell candles paired with heartfelt cards about healing, resilience, and overcoming adversity and to donate those same candles, along with formula, diapers, clothes, and nonperishable food, directly to local shelters. (I will also be donating care bags with different shades of makeup and lotions/deodorant/and self care items overall to just spark some self love, my mom didn't have much of that in the shelter so I assume a lot of other women who come in would just adore something that boosts their self-confidence and worth.)

The startup cost for my candle business is small compared to the ongoing help my mom still needs, especially with rides and rent/groceries. Any contribution you make here is completely optional! and if you’d like your support to go directly to helping my mom, please just mention that in your message so I can make sure it’s used for her needs first.

Thank you for believing in me, in my family, and in the women and men I hope to reach through this project. Your kindness truly helps me spread warmth, comfort, and light to those who need it most.💗

I do plan on making videos on my donations (not the overly performative and exploitative camera in your face type but just showing what I drop off at shelters on my tiktok @jellypawss)

If you do decide to donate, your message will be directly relayed to my mom!

If that's not your thing, she would still love some words of encouragement on her job hunt and some advice and hugs as she navigates her mom's decline. We love you!
