The small village was located deep in the hanging valley. A sinuous and secret path led through the peaks to the precarious pass leading into the hamlet. The elders always went to great efforts in order to keep intact the secretive nature of the community and its location. Spirits were numerous in these mountains, some benevolent. Most neutral, or worse. It was said that the spirits of the dead travellers who perished while trying to reach the village, would reincarnate into evanescent butterflies, finally able to reach their final destination using theyr new found pair of perlescent wings.
