Ambulant waspid

Many die every year in the putrescent bogs of the world. Nameless victims lost forever to the fetid waters of a foggy wood. Countless skeletons dissolve slowly in the murky ponds amidst the lilies and cattails. Although these lands are unwelcoming to humanoids, they are brimming with life of a parasitic nature. Flies, mosquitoes, ticks and leeches made their home in the roots of these forsaken swamps. Even more ancient beings live hidden in the shadow of the gnarled trees. The ambulant waspid is a skeleton bearing a large wasp nest stuck between their ribs whiten by the acidic vapors of the bog. It trades through the swamp surrounded by a swarm of red wasps. Their shell is thick and their sting extremely painful, injecting in the flesh a corrosive toxin. The skeleton responds to the primal commands of the nest, doing anything it can to defend it. The skeleton part of the waspid has no instinct for self-protection.

Mindless hosts. The waspid is under the control of its nest. The wasps use their skeletal host to move around but also to defend themselves. One may but hope that these remains do not bear any lingering hint of consciousness.

Fury of the nest. In counterpart, the wasps furiously sting any creature brave enough to approach of a wasp nest and an undead at the same time. Hundreds of stingers will batter the flesh of the offender, tendering it for later infestation.

Strategies. The ambulant waspid will rush to close quarters in order to put enemies in the aura of its wasps’ nest. If it is not grabbing a creature already, its priority will be to grapple the weakest target with Grasp of the wasp. Unless the enemies around it have immunity to poison or there is only one enemy in range, it will then use its sadistic swarm on every turn.
