Early Viewing: Automata Gigue Ch 5

Sorry to everyone for how long this took. I have had no energy and haven't been feeling myself recently, and this has been getting more and more frequent, so I finally went to a doctor about it. They seem to think I'm depressed, which I've got mixed feelings about. Regardless, the amount of time this took was unacceptable, so I'm going to give the medication he recommended a try and see if there's any improvement.

Please enjoy.

Thanks for the chapter, can’t wait for the next one.

Thank you for all the hard work you do keeping these stories going, I know it can br difficult and I'm sorry to hear about the admittedly rushed sounding diagnostic and remedy. I've detested the medication but hope it helps, I find that discovering a good blend of work and fun, like going out and hanging with friends or going on a hike if you enjoy either of those for example, makes everything a little less bleak looking. Again thanks for all the banger chapters!

This may come late, but I would just like to say thank you for another banger of a chapter. And also, stay safe, and take all the necessary steps to get better. Depression and all associated conditions can be nasty, both short term and long term. Get better, get well, because I certainly will keep on comming back for more :)

YOOOO! Renewable energy! I love it! Thanks for the chapter. :)

WhatAFungi

Thank you for the chapter and I hope you're doing alright.

I hope the medicine helps, or at least starts you in the right direction. I had a few years fighting against a combination of depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and while you haven't gone too far into detail, the symptoms you've described sound a lot like what I experienced. It certainly isn't fun, but there's absolutely light at the end of the tunnel.

Someone else mentioned that depression and other conditions can sometimes get lumped together which is true, so if you don’t have any change you’re well within your rights to get second opinions or ask for different medication. There’s so many different types and people react differently to all of them, so if you feel medication is the right way to go then try and find the one which works best for you. Hope you start feeling better soon.

It's not Depression, doctors seem to lump everything into that. It's ADD/ADHD. Something I personally have had my whole life and know quiet well. Specifically, the high and following slump in seratonine levels which comes after finishing a large project (I've noticed this started right after a major milestone in borne of caution.) There have been other signs of it as well from what I've read in your progress updates but don't have time to go into it in detail before heading to work. I may come back afterwards to address it in detail. Anyways, get a second opinion from your doctor, and know that you aren't at all alone in your struggles. Wish you the best! Beau

Perhaps i'm misreading and this was a longer ongoing process, but i'm surprised you got diagnosed and put on medication this fast. It's also very sad to hear you have mixed feelings about all of this. Did a professional give you an oppertunity to share these concerns? Whatever you feel is valid and very important. In any case, i'll refrain from speaking too much about topics my knowledge is limited on. I hope you're able to able to recover and that you discuss whatever concerns you have with (another) therapist.

Depression its like that sadly, its a word a bit overused that never satisfies the receiver at the end. Try to take it easy, try the medication and see if it helps. Sadly there is no magical cure for this so it needs time. Time and patience

As an engineer, the idea of my entire operation being beholden to one Gods whims would be terrifying and one of the first hurdles I try to solve for after immediate concerns are met

I don't know your life style, but I recomend trying to increase your time out doors and/or exercising if possible. Both have been shown to help in studies, and in my own experience as well.

Seadrake

Great to have a chapter but always take care of your needs first and foremost there shouldn't be exceptions ever for your own body hope you get better!

You might just need a vacation man, take at least a week where you're not working and do some stuff to break up the monotony

Zach

Thank you for the chapter!
