8K and comic book style

The goal is precisely to give the impression that it is no longer 3D, but drawing :)

2022-10-10 15:28:32 +0000 UTCThat is really interesting. It's a sort of paradox. This is most apparent with the pi1942_test image, which I think works better than the other one. Zoomed out at full screen, the "comic-book" style filter enhances the illusion of the image. It looks great. This is on a 5K Apple display. It makes me want to look closer. But when I zoom closer into the 8K image, the illusion breaks down. It's like my mind expects 3D realism, and is disappointed when it is revealed to be a 2D drawing. The best aspect of the 2D style is for costumes -- the shoes, for example, look amazing.

2022-10-08 21:36:46 +0000 UTCIt's a nice scene but I'm not a fan of the comic book style. Makes it look a lot less realistic and takes away from the illusion.
