Progress Update 8/15/22

One one hand I want more chapters so I want it to take longer for you to reach the next goal, on the other I want to support your writing. 10$ from me hoping sicko mode lasts for a long while :)

Ahh, I have been following this story for a long time, if you are going to go hard, then I shall support it. More constant uploads is exactly what the doctor ordered. 10$ time.

It's an attitude I'm dearly hoping he changes, because it just means he's being taken advantage of. Even if he doesn't believe so himself. He's already offering up his time for free. And since time is the only thing any of us really have, it should never be fully free. It's perfectly fair to let people have a month (for example) delay when they're not even willing to chip in what amounts to the cost of a Big Mac. It's what I have to do. I have a finite budget myself, and have to pick and chose which authors I support, and which I just have to show some patience for. If I didn't have the money to support anyone then man, I'd be happy with just getting so, so many hours worth of free entertainment. Especially with the knowledge that I'm never missing out. Even if not all chapters are free Right Now, I know they'll come soon enough. Not having unlimited budget also means people need to make a choice. If you think two stories are awesome, and you can only give 5 bucks to one of them, then the obvious choice is to go with the one who actually provide you a sneak peak of some extra chapters. It's a sensible and understandable options, and only those of us with more money than sense would do differently, heh. And yes, if these paragraphs of text didn't make it obvious, I love having discussions :P.

He's specifically mentioned that he doesnt want to gatekeep content behind a paywall. I do agree though that it's an effective strategy and am someone who is willing to dole out the dough to support good content like this.

Don't see any problems there. A promise that is outdated should be discarded. There's nothing shameful in saying "I was wrong" and "I need to do this to be able to focus more on writing." I mean. He's unlikely to disappoint us. We're the people already paying. The people who'd be disappointed is the "leechers" who enjoy his work without giving any compensation anyway. And even then, anyone of those disappointed is just stupid anyway. More time to write = more chapters = more to read. The Patrons will just get a slight headstart, it'd all be caught up eventually anyway. It's really a win/win/win situation. Literally no-one loses out. Except for shortsighted people.

While I agree having the Patreon be a standard 'tip jar' will keep the amounts lower Fugg would end up going back on his promise for the Patreon if he started keeping chapters behind patron barriers (in his Patreon blurb he talks about this). Maybe a smaller option would be having patron votes or participation, like voting on names of new moves or including more opportunities for forum back and forth like the last chapter.

Hey man, Don't burn out. Remember that to earn money, you need to take care of yourself as well. Just posting free updates right away won't allow you to really do that. You should get 5, or preferably 10, advanced chapters on Patreon to drive people to sponsor you. If you want to be generous, you could just charge 2.5 USD for it. Normally people charge 5. If you want to be a little more "greedy" charge 10.
