At this point, I really don't know what to say. I thought the $2k goal was going to be a distant thing forever, yet here we are only a week later hitting the next one.
I intend to honor whats on the goal if everything holds steady. I still have my current job (as much as I don't enjoy it) and with Patreon being a volatile income source, I don't see myself putting in my two weeks and seeking something part-time until sometime after the first week of Sept.
Once everything settles (assuming there is no harsh drop-off in the near future) I'll be using this newfound free time to keep writing and seek out a more formal education when it comes to the technical aspects of writing. Those of you who read the final drafts I post might notice there are points in the writing that are off or don't convey what I mean well. This is what I'm trying to correct, as lifelong dyslexia and starting my stint as a writer on 4chan 12 or so years back really messed up how I parse english. I want to bring my A game for you all, and this is how I'll start.
Someone asked why I put limits on the two highest tiers, and there are two reasons for that
1. Any one person giving a lot introduces instability to the equation. Limiting how much the whole group is affected by the departure of a handful of patrons means we can keep the ship sailing smoothly.
2. I do not want people giving above their means.
Point number two flows right unto the two golden rules about this patreon that I will repeat forever.
1. Only give what you can comfortably give. If being a patron means you need to carefully balance your books, or God forbid, are going without something critical in your life, then STOP.
2. Never hesitate to downgrade or delete a pledge for any reason, at any time. No one will hold it against you, especially not me. This goes for every tier, as I've had months in the past where a few dollars can make or break an entire month, and I do not wish that stress on anyone.
You all are giving me an ulcer, I swear.
Jokes aside, I have no idea how to even begin thanking everyone. I guess I'll start by getting this next chapter done as soon as I can :^)
Thankee much,
Fuggmann.
