Quick Update- Next Build Content

This month we have a tie.


I have two options, starting updating the Save System or adding KArnal's new route. 


What I will do is this: 

I will dedicate the next seven days into trying to update the Save System, if I notice it's too big of a task for me to finish this month, I will start on Karnal's route instead. 


However if I see it's possible to finish it this month or the next without breaking the game then I'll keep going with it. Messing with the Save System can be problematic because it can break the game, if that happens I won't be able to do anything else until I finish the Save System.


Upgrading the Save System also includes: A new error message when trying to load an old save data (More than five builds older), the implementation of a System that will save what build the save is created, and another system to check if the system used is five or more versions newer than the previous save. And another system needs to be added to check if the older saves have the Build version saved or not and make sure the game won't crash if there's not, instead giving an error message.


That would probably render every single save file from builds irrelevant and they would NOT launch. The error message would be different, but to avoid people finding random crashes because of values not being loaded into the game it's for the best.


If a week, for now, the game is not stable I will roll back to the previous versions I have as a backup and start Karnal's new route. 



Both options are important, and so far Updating the save system has only affected one patron, but still, I'll see what I can do.


Thank you all for your time, my deadline for this month is between 25 and 28 of this month. If the Save System is not ready by then and it's not possible to roll back, then a Development Update instead detailing what I was able to code and if possible some screenshots of the current build progress.  


Again, I aim for releasing monthly updates. With luck, Johan will also be finished soon and I can add him as a new option of routes for the game, it's time for the game to have its third intended character. 


Anyway for now I will test the waters with the new save system and see if I can code it fast enough. Sometimes I think a system can take months to implement but I find some easy solutions while coding. But now without the ability to drink coffee, I'm kind of screwd (Yeah, two months without drinking most stuff and eating most stuff either, doctor's orders).  Coding without coffee is veeeeery hard I won't lie. 



Anyway, I'll go start working now, thank you all for testing and playing Just Friends and more than that: For staying here with me supporting this project. It's thanks to you guys that I can dedicate myself as much as possible to this game.
