Making of "The To-Do List"

This one was basically just word for word a thing that happens in our house. I am a BIG list maker and loosing out on the satisfaction of crossing something off is devastating!
I took my cues for the yelling face in the last panel from Calvin & Hobbes
The dad's brilliant face was my husbands work, which is probably why it seems so "right" -he feels it on a visceral level! :)
The finished comic was looking a bit dull, so at the 11th hour I decided to throw some dramatic lighting effects on the 2nd panel to really sell the panic.
The bonus panel was a bit of luck! I didn't have one when I started posting to social media. I always start with Facebook and while I was getting ready to post to Instagram, people on FB started commenting about how they just add the completed chore to the bottom of the list and cross it off. It dawned on me that I do this too and I was angry at myself for not realizing before I started posting. Then I remembered that I could edit the FB post, so I quickly went and drew out the bonus panel! The perfect crime! :)
