Making of "Doorbell"

My husband came up with this idea a while ago. Back then the baby cat was more of a baby, so it seemed out of character having him running about getting into mischief. Since the redesign, he's really come into his own, so I thought it was time to pull the trigger on this one!
The comic came together surprisingly quickly -I actually managed to complete it in a day, which is pretty unusual!
I originally had the "ding dong dash" game in my head, where a kid rings a doorbell and runs away, so I had the baby doing the same. I don't own a cat, so I wasn't actually sure how "gifts" on doorsteps work. I asked some cat owner friends and they said that the cat usually wants credit. I changed the baby to be proudly standing over the mouse and it really added another level to the joke!
After patting myself on the back for speeding through this strip, then came the bonus panel. I ended up spending the entire next day on it, but I was happy I did. :)
