Making of "Making Things Right"
Added 2019-09-20 01:35:03 +0000 UTCThis one was a pretty much word for word what happened, expect I wasn't clearing the table, I think I was maybe getting 2yo ready for bed(?) I can't remember what 5yo had done, or said, to upset me, but I heard J coaching him downstairs on how to make it up to me. He came trotting upstairs and delivered the line perfectly and even though I knew it was my husbands words, it still made me feel better. I suggested something for him to do to help me out and he pondered it for a moment before delivering the lines in the comic.
I wish I could say the bonus panel happened, but it was actually just something we came up with to put a more uplifting end to the story. We do strive to parent in that way whenever possible though, so it's definitely something that *could* happen.
I hadn't realized until after I posted it that the bonus could be taken in 2 ways. The way I meant it was Fran had come up with the solution of letting Vincent use his toys to help her out and was proud at her ingenuity. From the comments I was getting though, it seems that some people took it to mean that Vincent had genuinely intended to help her by "playing with his toys" and she was proud of what a sweet boy he was. This was very much NOT intended, but people seemed so touched by the idea that I didn't want to smash their dreams by correcting them! π
