Making of "Red-Shirting (remastered)"

I saw the original of this getting shared again and some questions about redshirting popped up in one of the mom groups I was in. Turns out, this is the time of year when the decision has to be made whether to apply to Kindergarten or not. Knew it was now or never for the remaster.

I'd always thought of them being at a coffee shop for this one, hence the non-pink background, but the long empty counter had always seemed a bit off. I was having issues drawing Fran gripping the counter in the 1st panel and I suddenly realized if I changed it to a cozy little table it would fix the problem and look WAY better!

I updated Fran's expressions and poses, but I was still pretty happy with her pug friend, so left her largely unchanged, just gave her some eyebrows and brightened up her eyes. It's a bit crazy that this is the 1st time she's been in a "new style" comic, especially since her fox pal has already been in twice!

I had Fran take a swig from her cup in the last panel. It seemed more natural and I could show the cup logo a bit bigger. This was actually in the old comic, but it was too small to really see!

I completely reworked the Enterprise crew. There was some confusion last time between Spock and Bones, plus I thought I could do better with Kirk's pose. I got lucky and found the perfect reference pictures in a Star Trek "landing party" statue!
