Having the kids home all the time has been really draining. 5yo's go to "entertainment" is bugging 3yo and 3yo is going through a phase where anything 5yo does is an infraction that needs to be reported to us. Meanwhile I'm trying to keep sane by drawing, but when I do, the "mom guilt" kicks in BAD!
So when they do play nicely together it's music to my ears! I tweeted about one such golden occasion the other day:

I'm happy to report that the real life "mud factory" wasn't that bad -but the setup was too perfect for a comic!
As the 2 panels were pretty much the same, I completed the top one 1st and then copied it to the bottom panel and adjusted.
My original bonus panel was this:

...it's something I often think when dealing with the kids messes, but it's a pretty niche joke! Ask an anime fan if you don't get it! :)
I wanted something more universal, so I removed the speech bubble and ran a caption competition with some friends. My friend Devin Lawson from Spicy Donut came up with the idea for the new bonuses. The robot angle was a bit out there, but it made me laugh, so I hoped people would like it too. It was also a fun excuse to dip into my "Robots" pinboard! :)
