Making of "Embarrassing"
Added 2021-06-16 17:55:14 +0000 UTC6yo is always getting up to ridiculous antics and then refusing to do something simple because it's "too embarrassing".
Three is always a good number for comedy so I brainstormed 3 embarrassing things for him to be doing at the start. I had other more specific ideas (eg using display toilet in store or announcing a fart in crowded elevator) but I trimmed it down to visual gags that didn't make the panels too busy.
I made his pose in the last panel look like the Drake meme for a bit of added amusement:
I hadn't originally planned on using my Mum's jumper design but got stuck trying to think of something to put on there. All the best jumpers were Christmas ones, but I didn't want to have to shelve the comic until then. I'd happened to tweet about the Knitabilty book recently, so that gave me the idea to make it the same jumper I wore when I was his age!
