I honestly don't know why I found the notion of kids calling makeup and hats "filters" so funny. I ran the idea by J first and then Daneman on the podcast and neither of them really got it. I was going to drop the whole idea altogether, but then @sveninframes messaged me and said he'd heard it on the podcast and I should definitely make it a comic! So here we are! I'm still not entirely sure if it's OK, but heck, weirdos like me and Sven will hopefully like it!
I fell into my usual trap of "This one will be easy!" I'm a fool. Having to draw their reflections AND their backs, standing in natural positions was a bloody nightmare! Add to that the uncertainty of posting such a weird one after the influx of new follows from the Pet Foolery crossover. Trying to draw something hard, when you're really not sure about the joke, makes it go even sloooower!
Once I got Joel's pose figured out I was a lot happier. I'd wanting him adjusting his hat, but his big head wouldn't allow for it. I also removed Fran's speech bubble from the 1st panel and gave her a "just finished my makeup" face. Always better to say it with the art if you can.
The bonus panel randomly came to me and I liked the strange "what the fu...?!" mental image it created. Again I worried it might be too weird, but we're too far into weirdo country to leave now! 😅
