Four Horsemen
Added 2021-10-21 13:52:56 +0000 UTCI started doing this one for Comictober Day 23: Apocalypse. It's supposed to be the 4 Horsemen of the Kidpocalypse. J came up with the 4 names (a play on War, Pestilence, Famine and Death) and I drew it. The problem is I interpreted Deaf as being a dad who is oblivious to the chaos around him, contentedly playing his Switch. This can for sure happen sometimes and I think people would find it funny, BUT- it also makes me uncomfortable dunking on dads. It's something I really try not to do in my comics.
I asked J what he had meant for Deaf and he had imagined War screaming in Deaf's ear. I could change it to that, but honestly that's less funny to me. I'm in a weird place where I find this funny, but also don't like it...?
These single image comics are always more work for less likes (eg Parenting Hell) so I've decided to just walk away here. Who knows, maybe I'll circle back to it one day, but for now, consider it a patron exclusive sketch! :)
