Making of "Candy For Lunch"
Added 2021-11-05 17:30:35 +0000 UTCI get very anxious about Halloween candy. On one hand I feel the parental responsibility to limit it, but at the same time, maybe it's a good thing for them to experience a self inflicted tummy ache? Then they start feeding it to me and all bets are off.
Last year I realized them bribing me to keep quiet had a bit of a mafia vibe to it. I thought it would make a good comic, but by then it was too late, so I wrote the idea down for this year.
I enjoyed the Sopranos, but haven't actually watched any of the Godfathers all the way through. I keep meaning to, but just haven't sat down and done it. So for this comic I googled "famous mafia movie quotes" to cobble together a script. I was particularly proud of switching "Leave the gun -take the cannoli." for "Leave the gummies -take the candy corn." -but I think I might have gone too far, because I didn't see anyone in the comments get the reference! Oh well! 😅
