Making of "New Kid"

In reality, in panel 3 I had a lot more trepidation in my voice, bracing myself for whatever awful thing might be coming next. I made Fran more neutral so the final reaction had more of a punch.
The real life conversation from the bonus panel went like this:
V: There's a kid at school who called me a jerk!
J: Well, you can be a jerk sometimes...
V: His name is Oscar. More like ARSE-car!
The real thing was funnier, but it complimented the comic so well I wanted to use it as the bonus rather than making it it's own comic.
Drawing this one was pretty quick because I could pull a lot of the art from C-Word and Are We There Yet?
I had her more alarmed in the last panel originally. J suggested I rein it in a bit, but looking at it now I'm not totally sure that was the right choice. People online are assuming that she just let what he said slide, but it was supposed to end with her shocked, knowing a conversation needed to be had! 😅
