Making of "The Witching Hour"

A friend with a newborn was asking for colicky baby tips.  Having been through the wringer with our first, I dug about in my repressed memories.  Along with some more practical advice, I also recalled that sometimes they just cry and all you can do at that point is protect your own sanity.  Dressing up a grumpy baby on an otherwise miserable day can make all the difference!

This comic came together super quick because I had this art that I'd drawn for an upcoming book, but didn't end up using:

I just edited the linework a little for the comic and was rolling!

People have been crediting me with making a "Bay-BEE" joke with the costume, but I hadn't actually thought of that!  I wasn't sure how an animal dressing as another animal would look, so I went insect, because those haven't been shown as sentient in the Litterverse (jury is still out on that one!)  Bugs-wise, the obvious choice was bee or ladybug.  The bees colors are more dramatic and show an obvious change in clothes from the red onesie, so bee it was!

So there are sentient animals and no sentinet. Waiting for the day you confirm if there is any human there...

Thank you! 😁 I really enjoy getting them down on here. Funny that it's basically a books worth at this point!

Recent patron, but I love these behind-the-scenes of your process of comic making.
