Making of "Every Year"
Added 2022-12-31 21:36:08 +0000 UTCDespite not drawing comics, It's been a busy month! Gave the house the 1st good spring clean since the pandemic (I have usable cupboards now!). My parents visited. from England Took a trip to Keystone Colorado so the kids could see some snow. Got stuck in Colorado because we missed our flight. Drove 14hrs back home. Christmas craziness (with 1 less day to prep!). Post Christmas clean up and now New Years!
I'd initially planned on doing a Christmas dog comic, but as the days started evaporating it became clear that wouldn't be feasible. I decided instead to shoot for new years to give myself the maximum amount of breathing room.
I sketched this out in the 5hr traffic jam that made us miss our flight out of Denver. I love how I can work anywhere with my iPad! I wanted to drew more, but I started needing to wee so much I couldn't concentrate! π
I managed to finish it up (the comic, not the wee!) a couple of days ago when my father-in-aw took the kids for the day. It was nice to get back to drawing, although I admit feeling a bit rusty! I wasn't wholly satisfied with the linework (although J has assured me it's fine!) so I might have over compensated on the coloring! It was fun though -I always enjoy a good excuse to do silly lighting!
