Making of "Open House"

Joel and Dog Dad (name still TBD!) are good friends who rib on each other. I wanted to show the playful nature of their friendship here, but because it's the first time they've interacted, I worried it could be read as purely confrontational.
I showed the roughs to J and he suggested using the idea another way; have the dog family steal a house from an estate agent, the extra layer being that he's a dog too, so he doesn't argue with the ridiculous logic!
I roughed out the new version and the estate agent shape reminded me of a dachshund, so that's what he became.
Half way through I thought it would be funny to change "Dinner parties you can throw in here!" to "Smell in here!" -just seemed more doggie to me! :)
