Making of "Bedroom Antics BONUS"
Added 2023-09-15 14:50:21 +0000 UTCIt was initially a toss up between this comic being about making the bed and wrapping a present, as I'd noted my cats being similar terrors on both. The bed changing won because it had the the innuendo angle, so that made the wrapping paper the bonus panel.
I found the ridiculousness of this hilarious (seriously! HOW?!) but then I had to draw the thing! It needed to be clearly Fran in there, so I drew over her head shape and posed her body to be more cat-like. But paper folds are a bit more complicated than cloth and it looked a bit strange. I decided to go to the source, so I Googled wrapped up cats and was not disappointed!
The wrapping in the photo was a lot more haphazard and looser than I had mine so I adjusted it. It still clearly had to be Fran though, so I still kept it quite stylized.
For the wrapping paper itself I needed something busy, but not so much that the cat shape was hard to see. For once our messy garage was useful because when I walked out to the car, I passed by this stripy wrapping paper and snapped a pic!
