Making of "Getting Dark"
Added 2023-12-28 19:04:31 +0000 UTCWhen my oldest started playing Minecraft at 5 it was immediately hilarious, so I started tweeting about it. I still think it is one of the funniest things I have ever done, so I go back and read it from time to time. This last go through, a tweet stood out as a potential quick comic -something I was sorely in need of because I've been behind a lot lately!
I forgot to start recording the time-lapse for this one until after I'd done the initial sketch, so apologies for that, but you didn't miss much! The biggest challenge was hiding the Switch until the very end.
The other notable thing was the last minute change to Fran's face in panel 3. I originally had her the second after being interrupted by Vince, but it took some of the kick out of the ending. I rolled her back to the moment BEFORE being interrupted, looking all loved up and proud. I was really pleased with how the face came out and the contrast with the final expression made the whole comic better.
