Making of "Scrolling"
Added 2024-11-17 16:00:07 +0000 UTCJ said the magic words I love to hear "Oh! I came up with a comic for you!" From his idea I wrote the script and paneled it out. He'd said the punchline could be something like "Cooper pooped in the dishwasher, but not that, because it's too gross!" but I thought it was the perfect level of gross haha!
The natural instinct was to have the kids looking concerned, like they're bringing her bad news, but I thought it would be funnier to have them excited instead. As Vince is the one speaking, it felt like he should have some hand in it too, so I added "and I ran it!" to the end. I liked how that left a bit of a question mark. Did he make it worse, or fix it?!
Just before posting I worried that people might miss his hand on her arm in the first panel, so I reworked panels 1 and 2 to have him getting her attention more obvious.
