Making of "Quick Errand"

I didn't finish it because -where IS the baby? IS HE OK?! π
I knew I was onto something though, so I kept coming back to it over the years, still not quite sure how to fix it. It wasn't until recently that I finally solved it! Have the baby IN the comic, so we can see he's safe AND give the punchline to Fran to make Joel less naggy and her less incompetent.
I have a rule where "less text = better!" but this one was an exception because having "backup backup clothes" was funnier than showing 2 onesies.
Drawing it went pretty smoothly considering all the "stuff" on Fran. I started with the bottom left panel to make sure she was loaded up correctly before moving back to the 1st to add the stuff there. It's always easier to start with a wider view and take stuff away than the other way around.
Another benefit to doing this comic now as opposed to years ago is that now I use Baby Vincent in these type of comics. Back in the day it would have been Cooper and I feel like they would have had their sh*t together better by then. This kind of scenario reads best with them as 1st time parents!
