Whew, wasn't quite sure we were gonna make it today! Unfortunately, while we our house didn't suffer any damages from the hurricane, our well water apparently got really dirty in our absence and now smells and tastes like metallic eggs. It's gross. I think we're just going to give up on well water and try to get city water installed, but that requires us to dig a 1,000 ft. trench line to our house and installing an equal amount of water pipes. Definitely got some work ahead of us.
Unfortunately, some areas in Louisiana weren't quite as lucky as us. Lake Charles in particular, a place we frequented often, was devastated in the hurricane. It's not getting a lot of coverage right now since there's so many other things going on with our fucking nightmare country, but please check out this twitter thread.
