I’m releasing 0.5.27, the first preview of the remake Act 1. This marks the beginning of staged releases, where updates will drop every two weeks with whatever is ready until Act 1 is complete. This approach allows me to show the project is alive and progressing while giving you something tangible to play.

This 0.5.27 release is public for everyone to enjoy. Moving forward, subsequent updates will be exclusive to paid members at launch, as per the usual Patreon structure.

A Remaster? No, A Remake...:

What started as a simple remaster, obviously no longer applies here. For a long time now, it’s been a full remake, and that was poor communication by me:

• Every dialogue line has been revised, with many scenes drastically rewritten or reimagined.

• New scenes have been added.

• Full 1080p resolution.

• Visual consistency and many improvements across the board.

On Support:

For the past two months, I’ve paused payments as a gesture of goodwill while working very hard on the remake without compensation. However, this isn’t sustainable long-term. By releasing 0.5.27 now, I can resume development under more reasonable terms while continuing to focus on quality.

If you’d prefer to wait until the entire Act 1 remake catches up, that’s totally fine. I understand and appreciate your patience!

A note about progress:

The images for all of Act 1 are DONE, but don’t underestimate how much effort goes into the writing, scripting, and late stage improvements. Even 0.5.27, which has fewer new scenes compared to later sections, took weeks to polish, and I ended up adding a few new CGs to make it more engaging.

Please remember, this is not my full-time job. I’m a solo developer handling everything - art, script, coding, and more. It’s very easy to underestimate how long these tasks can take. I massively underestimated this myself and have learned some tough lessons along the way (and have the scars to prove it).

The big picture:

This remake has taken much longer than I ever anticipated, but the foundation feels so much stronger now. Some decisions I’ve made might not resonate with everyone, and I know I’ll make mistakes here and there, but the game is in a place that feels much more polished and cohesive to me.

The only thing I truly miss from the original version is the animations. However, they’re not forgotten - they’re just better suited for a later stage of development as they are incredibly time-consuming, and once they’re done, they’re difficult to refine or tweak.
