Marvel Rivals got me and Leslie back into a general Marvel kick now that we remembered that we actually did like these characters once upon a time. We've started rewatching the original X-Men cartoon, been reading more comics, and even watched a few Marvel movies we missed - namely the two other MCU Spider-Man movies. No Way Home was pretty good! Centering the plot more around trying to rehabilitate old villains was really unique, and the ending was pretty haunting. Extremely fun, surprisingly emotional movie.
I know people rag on MCU movies for being shot kinda flat and boring in comparison to something like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies, but I dunno. I feel like there's some strengths unique to these MCU movies that still make them just as worth watching. The connected worlds, the performance of the acting, the unique stories, and even just the way various directorial touches seep through. They're not all good by any means, but I think there's still some value to 'em.
That's all for now, though! See you on Friday!
