I’n the comics there is a story ark where The Thinker takes over Wally west’s Body for when he was the flash. He then had to fight the thinker in his own mind. Going off what we have seen and the comic book version, I assume that it will be the same but with Barry Allen. If this is correct maybe we will see the thinker vs amunet black because this also happens in the comics leading up to the thinker taking over the flash

That was my theory after seeing how his health was affected after the particle accelerator explosion. And I'm not sure why else he would be after the Flash

I think it has to be more than just Barry’s accelerated healing other wise Devoe could have caught Wally with much less trouble. He needs the new metas and his focus has been on them more than Flash. I think they may just be used to restore his body. Barry may just be needed for something else.

Here's a suggestion for a poll ... being hit with dark matter clearly doesn't make someone stupid given The Thinker and professor Stein. So the poll question is ... has Barry developed CTE from all those blows to the head or has he always been stupid? What moron in these modern times doesn't just assume there are cameras on the premises? Even STAR labs, which doesn't have any door locks, has cameras.

i dont think its barry he wants i think he wants the bus load of metahumans powers but in order to make them he used Barry. i feel like Barry might have just been his tool for the job and that's why hes letting Barry catch them to round them up for him so he doesn't need to find them himself.

It must have something to do with fixing him, he said his body will last just long enough. Unless he’s trying to get Barry to go back and undo his choice completely, he did make that reference to his wife as well.

the fastest mind + the fastest man. i think devoe wants to somehow transfer his mind in barrys boday.. maybe. with barrys body, devoe could easily compensate that his mind has to take energy from his body.

I honestly dont know what his intentions are and i fucking love it.

This seems the most logical. My idea was that instead of defeating DeVoe they find a cure for him. So they would defeated the Villain by helping him.

Why not Wally or Jesse or another speedster? If it’s just the healing factor I don’t see why the smartest man alive can’t figure out another way to get it. He could have just asked the Flash for help before he went full Villian if it was that simple.

I think he does need it, but I don’t believe that is his ultimate end game. The bus metas have to come into play somehow, and doing all this rather than asking Team Flash for help doesn’t seem like an intelligent path for someone so smart.

Maybe season 1 Barry would have. But I don't know if current Barry would. He labelled a bus full of people as criminals without even knowing who they were.

i dont think so since he need all 12 from the bus. I dont think we will be able to call his plan for a while or maybe we can spot something in the first episode when barry come back and talk about a lot of random stuff. I think all he is saying is stuff that is going to happen. Also if he have the answer to everything he would not seek anything from team flash, he may just want to expose him like the FBI in Arrow.

I believe he needed Barry's body. His mind is already too fast for his own body so maybe he now needs the fastest man alive's body in order to stay alive.

While watching this episode, the way DeVoe was talking made me think he doesn't want to kill Barry, but either requires his healing abilities from him or to teach Barry some lesson. But I think heal him would be more probable.

I feel like that would just be a dumb copout. They've already used that as a villains motivation, so using it again would just feel way too cheap. If they use old problems and motivations this show will become way too predictable. (some people already say it is, however it isn't as bad as a lot of people say)

Yeah it seems weird that instead of using his brain power to find Barry and then simply ask for help knowing he'd probably say yes since DeVoe is such an upstanding member of society, he decides to become a super villain. Maybe there's something else at work that we aren't sure of yet?

It probably wouldn’t hurt. But if it’s that he should know all he would need to do is ask nicely and Barry would help him. He is Barry Allen after all!
