The Walking Dead 8x8 Poll!

Is this a satisfying way for a certain character to go for you?

Comments

I really hope they change it last minute (like they did with this decision) because of the uproar. If they had set it up better and not shown him in the flash forwards then it wouldve been better. But the fact that they'd already filmed the flash forwards and then during filming of episode 6 simple gimple suddenly said to do this is just plain obnoxious of him. It's such a shame because simple gimple said that it was to explain why Rick changes his mind about Negan but thats already explained in the comics without any deaths (I mean heath loses a leg and rick almost dies but no actual deaths). I really hope that they either change it to him being immune or to it being a whisperer that bit him (the next big bads). Gimple said that we'd see them earlier than thought so likely in this season but then again he also said to Chandler that he had three years left on the show and only after chandler bought a house and applied/accepted to college, all to be closer to the set to film, did simple gimple kill him off (thus affectedly breaking contract). And why he did this (as a plot point) makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. So what it could fuel Rick and Negan to peace (many things could do that) but he's such a huge plot orientated character from here on out in comics I don't see how they could do such arcs like the whisperers without him. So pretty much the most obnoxious thing Walking Dead has ever done. Hate it! (And don't get me wrong I'm not a huge fan of Carl myself but this ruins so many future plots). Plain and Simple...

Ye i see that too. But the thing is Carl plays a fucking massive part in the storylines to come and without him they make no sense. Also the decision was pretty last minute with simple gimple making it during episode 6 filming. So they filmed the flash forwards with carl in it and then decided to kill him off for shock factor and to make sense of a plot point that already made sense without killing a character in the comics.

I actually really hope they do something like that and change it last minute so he survives after the huge backlash they've had. Or maybe he was bit by a cannibalistic whisperer.

I have the same feeling i had with Andrea. I know how their comic story goes so it's annoying when their story gets cut short

Ryan O'Malley

He's not dead yet. With season 8 taking place over 48 hours in their time, he could potentially last the whole of season 9 before he dies from the infection. Lets hope he takes some key saviours out with him.

Emma McSweeney

Lol just read it. 10 times better

Jay-O

Boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii what are they doing?

Jamie O'Brien

Until I see him die on-screen I refuse to believe he's dead. I'm not saying this because I don't want him to dead, it's because it wouldn't be the first time Walking Dead has done something like this. I loved this whole episode and how it was presented visually, and how it was acted through. But killing off Carl would have to be one of the poorest writing decisions they've made. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but I just don't know any more.

Oneleg

Non comic book readers wont see why this is a bad decision. He plays an integral part after this arc.

Joshua Martinez

Wasn't his decision. They let him go.

Joshua Martinez

Even though I don't like that this character was killed off, It might help Rick save some people cause that is what this character would do

Kyle Snyder

i stopped watching full episodes last season. switched to only reaction videos. thanks to blindwave for being my frontline.

If they kill off Carl, then I don't like it, but I bet Carl isn't gonna die, its gonna be like the older people are fucked if they're bit, but some of the younger people are like immune to the shit or something, or maybe its gonna be a Last of Us scenario where Carl is the only one immune for whatever reason. I don't see them fully killing off Carl

Eric Keatts

i didnt even like carl so it dosent even matter to me really, this whole season so far to me has been one of the worse

Im devastated they would take Carl out like this. He had so much potential and they took him out for the shock factor

Adele

from what i hear the actor riggs has been wanting to attended college, so it would be very difficult to do both college and the show. he been doing the show since he was a small so I say its fine if he wants to attend college like a normal kid.

Maybe he'll hide an a dumpster

Kya Wither

Showrunner Gimple apparently was said to abide by his 3 year contract for the actor Chandler Riggs BUUUUT he fired him 2 weeks before his 18th birthday instead... Me and Carl are the same age and he was sort of a representation of me in the show. Sad to see him go...

Kya Wither

Apparently Riggs was fired by Gimple. So Fuck Gimple until something different comes out

Daniel Patterson

I missed it because I was too busy yawning. Can I choose "Option C : Meh, just more of the same from this lack luster season". Also if I got a dollar for every time Rick got his ass kicked, I could retire.

Erich Bomke

Finally Carl has been pissing me off for the last 4 season good riddance.

Thomas

Maybe he wasn’t bit by a zombie but in fact a cannibal whisper which is where a regular person would where zombie meat and flesh like season 1 to blend in. But because he bit him, I would have to assume he is a cannibal after all there being no food

Jamie Smith

I would have been happier if they killed off Daryl for his stupidness than fucking Carl

Colt Baudoux

I think it's a good deviation from the comics and could lead to quite an interesting character arc for rick if they play it right.

Shadow

It was a decision made by Showrunner Gimple during the filming of ep6(the one where he was bitten) They did this for "plot related reasons" which makes no sense as the comics already have the reason for this later plot development.

DevilJynx

That'd be cool, but I doubt it

Roberto Cerrillo

It's possible he was bitten by one of the whiperers which is in the comics. They dress like walkers, which would tie in to why he hasn't died yet.

Josh Bornman

If the guy wants to go to college why stop him, seems petty to give him a bad way out over that

Daniel Parkinson

Soo, there a news report Chandler Riggs got fired by the show runner gimple. When he was soposta be there for 3 more years per his contract . Same thing happend to the actress who played Andrea

Colt Baudoux

I think the reason he didn't die in this episode is because he is going to go out like a badass in the next one. I don't like losing his character but it would have been worse if they tried to recast him.

Chase Robert Dunn

Not for a character like Carl.
