Watched this when I was 7 years old. It has actually traumatized me. Still does that little bit. I know how to traverse stairs looking both directions because of this episode.

I'm one of the people who isn't too fond of this episode due to the lack of Doctor. But it is a really good introduction to a new long-standing Doctor enemy who rivals the OG Daleks and Cybermen. What do I mean by that? Well, you'll just have to wait until the 11th Doctor ;)

Tried to do a weeping angel style game of tag in the dark at my youth group once. We thought it would be a laugh, we were wrong. It was terrifying 😂

the best episode to start with doesnt have to be a great representation of the show, it just has to show enough of the world and a story good enough to get them to watch more. blink was what got me to watch dr who.

I find it weird that people often say this is the perfect episode to start with when someone starts watching Doctor Who. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing episode, but it's not at all representative of the show

Eric's reaction to this episode is EVERYTHING I wanted in a reaction to Blink. It is precisely the reason why Whoivan's show this episode to their non-Whovian friends and family, (etc etc)

i think this is where they need to stop watching doctor who and watch the rest of season one torchwood and then come back and watch doctor who.

I mean it's not really a mess up so much as it is an addition to the story. You're free to dislike it, as a lot of people do, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's "wrong"

In a future episode they mess up the angel's lore with movement. I suggest ignoring it (the mess up, not the episode).

Yep, I have that issue on all the Doctor Who episodes. You watching a UK Blu-Ray/Netflix? I've been told the US have a different frame rate standard, so their versions are slightly slower. I've found that speeding up the full length video to x1.04 speed helps keep it in sync longer.

the full length video seems to be at a slightly slower pace than the episode. I have to keep pausing mine to sync them back.

If you think about it, the Weeping Angels are kind of a dumb idea; however, Eric's right ... the editing made it scary as heck.

I remember first time I saw this. It was in the middle of the night, I was in my bed, with my back towards the door, in a pitch dark room. Let's just say that wasn't the optimal way to watch this episode if you're already afraid of the dark...
I think it's definitely the best examples of a Doctor-lite episode. I love it. It's not one of my absolute favorites, but I understand why people love it so much. It definitely opened up DW at the time, showed people what the show could really do. It's a bit of a cult-classic, and it has the highest rating on IMDB out of all the episodes (yes, IMDB isn't the most trustworthy ranking system, but still).
Fun fact, the writer of this episode (Steven Moffat, also wrote the "Are you my mummy?" and The Girl in the Fireplace) had no idea when he wrote this episode that it was going to become such a classic, and he's still amazed by that.
So glad you guys enjoyed it! And got freaked out. As you should. And nicely done with the pops, Aaron and Calvin! :D
And Lono, great job with the editing, as always.

I saw an interview with Steven Moffatt, pretty sure all the angels were actresses in make up, no actual statues were made

I think the main reason the Angels are so scary is because when you see something scary,(Especially as a kid) your first response is to close your eyes or look away but that is the one thing you can't do with this monster.

It's Neil Gaiman's fault. He was asked how to explain Doctor Who to someone who's never seen it and his answer went viral: "No, look, there's a blue box. It's bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. It can go anywhere in time and space and sometimes even where it's meant to go. And when it turns up, there's a bloke in it called The Doctor and there will be stuff wrong and he will do his best to sort it out and he will probably succeed 'cause he's awesome. Now sit down, shut up, and watch 'Blink'."

I find it interesting that Blink was a lot of now whovians first episode. Mostly because of how little doctor there was. Well compared to the rest of the series. But I am excited for remainder of the season. YANA
