Yeah they cant just extend life they have to die from sacrafice cus they love or care for human and everytime they kill someone with death note that humans years left are added to the shinigami which is why then when jealous dies for Missa all remainder of his life from all people he has killed goes to her now

a Shinigami can't extend anyones life they can only kill before the set time and take those lives time they had left and add to the time they already have.

ok when the killer was going to kill misa (forgive spelling) her time was up. but the killer was killed before it happen. the sinigami out of love had no choice but give the life he had to her this killed him cause he changed a set time to die. shinigami don't have a natural life span like us they cause they have to live. they can kill before the set time and they take those year left.

Minor hints for next few episode Rewatched the next few episodes and anyone else realize how unlawful L is during the whole big arch of the next 2-3 episodes? I’m not an expert on Japanese culture or Japanese law but he really pushes some things way to far.

Anyone else think that they should react to the Blank Page parody song when they get to the right episode? I think it would be funny for them to listen to it after getting to the point in the show where nothing is spoiled in the song and it’s really funny.

Regarding Light's sexuality. It's commonly joked amongst the fandom to regard Light as gay. What with his disinterested in Misa and his... complicated relationship with L. A huge piece of evidence in support of this is Light's last name (Yagami spelt backwards is im a gaY).

My opinion is Light is a psychopath he just doesn't connect to anyone on a sexual, physical, or emotional level at all. I always feel he will only engage in sexual activities to seem normal and blend in to society. I don't think he ever does it just for fun.

yeah the love doesn't matter its when the person is about to die and the shinigami chooses to stop the death by stopping the force that's killing it is when the shinigami dies

Don't think too hard about the whole Shinigami dying thing. There is only one way for a shinigami to die, they need to perform an action that directly leads to the lengthening of a humans life span, the simplest way would be to kill a would be murderer before they kill their victim. Shinigami rarely do this which is why Rem says that only those who love the would be victims do this, though it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say a Suicidal shinigami or something along those lines would do could do the act too and die
