my head canon is that the doctor wants to appear more human so that's why the master thinks the doctor is half human and the human on my mother's side is just a lie or a joke.

This is an amazing movie and I loved every second of this FL reaction The only flaw to this movie IMO is the "he's half human" bit, BUT, the lie I tell myself to fix it is that the Doctor had human medicine used on him while he was attempting to regenerate, so I guess maybe it mixed his DNA with human, making him half Timelord, half Human. And him saying "on my mother's side", is another of the Doctor's lies, I guess that's my totally bs headcanon but it helps

...This thing... the Tardis, 7th and 8th doctors are the only good thing about this movie... The reason the master had all those powers was because he was dead and had preserved his life through another means... also THE DOCTOR IS NOT CONFIRMED TO BE HALF HUMAN.

I never watched Doctor Who when I was a kid, but I remember when this came on Fox. I think they advertised it heavily during The X-Files. I even taped it, but I don't think I watched it until years later on my VHS tape because I heard about Doctor Who.

Cool Reaction, I loved this movie however there were many times we get to see the depth and size of the inside of the T.A.R.D.I.S. even in the old series.

Pretty much the only thing that is accepted as canon from this film is the fact a Time Lord has 12 regenerations and that the 8th doctor was Paul McGann. Please dear god forget everything else.

This is what happens when the US had a grasp on Doctor Who.... Never again.

It also did badly (besides very few in the US knowing what the hell Doctor Who was) because some genius decided to air it at the exact same time slot as the episode of Roseanne where Dan had his big heart attack, so everyone was watching ABC, not FOX.

the “half human” stuff is never addressed in the show and most people ignore it lol. As for the 13 lives, that’s not necessarily true as the Master has stolen regenerations before and characters have also been given extra regens. Even though the film is technically canon, I’d count it more as.... semi-canon.

Just...as a note...the Doctor's not half-human. This movie screwed a lot of things up. That was just one in a long line of bullshit, like the goo snake thing, the whole "the Daleks put the Master on trial for the evil things he did and let the Doctor just come to Skaro and pick up his body without doing a damn thing to him, because the Daleks totally care about the evil things the Master did and are totally cool with the Doctor, amirite?" thing, etc. They were going to do even more stupid shit in the series itself, but thankfully this never got picked up by any US network, so they didn't have a chance to ruin anything else.
