Yeah that was my thinking too. Endeavor had started to train Todoroki but his mother scald him with the water and so because he blamed his father he refused to do any fire training at all. Him being the 'perfect specimen' Endeavor has been waiting for him to grow out of his son's 'angst' and 'rebellion'. I roll my eyes every time during the Todoroki and Midoriya fight when Endeavor screams "SHOOTTTTOOOOO" I'm just like shut up dude. He doesn't even see you there. XD So yeah, agree with ya on the untrained firebender lol.

I don’t think todoroki was trained by endeavor after his mother was sent away. During the tournament Endeavor said told him he need to learn how to control his fire side. I would say right now he is like a untrained firebender lol just pushing out flames with now control over them

Not trying to attack Eric here l, just want to point out that the idea was to give a bunch of dumb 15 year olds complete say over their own costume designs so of course they're silly and impractical. I think as the characters age and mature we'll see their costumes mature too. And the problems with Deku's costume not having any functionality stem from the fact that that design was from back when he didn't have a quirk so it's only design points are based of trying to look like All Might, but he still wants to use it because it's a symbol of his mom's beleif in him, since she made it to make for giving up on him becoming a hero when he was little. I think once Deku really starts mastering his quirk, his costume will change too, as he becomes more confidant in his own identity as a hero and stops trying to be like All Might while still being based on his mom's suit.

I actually find it kind of annoying that he never puts on that mask or hood. I like the bunny look and think it really suits his personality and hopping style of movement (which I can finally talk about here since it was in the new opening), but even without that, I just find it really dumb that he has a mask and everything meant to add to his hero image that he never wears even during official hero work. If Horikoshi just wanted to get rid of the hood all together, this would have been a great time to do it.

Deku’s Gloves are huge for shock absorbsion when he uses smash. The neck thing is supposed to be a mouth guard type protection which he never puts on lol. He has a belt to hook things on, and elbow and knee pads for protection and joint reinforcement. It was originally designed by his mom and himself, I think you have way high expectations
