War Games Patrick Troughton calls the TimeLords in to help him clean up a mess. And no one thought he would do it, because he would be in just as much shit as them. But he did and was punished for his crimes of meddling in time and taking a T.A.R.D.I.S. thus the rest of that life was taken and he becomes Jon Pertwee in Spearhead from Space. At least to the way I understand it. Which is also why he is the protector of earth. Now I might be wrong on that. But I'm sure somebody will tell me if they think otherwise.
