Not exactly happy to be arguing about the science of this episode, but for what it's worth, you never see the alien and the new moon in the shot at the same time. So we can't really say it's the same size as the original moon or even if it's closer to the Earth than the original was. Even normally the moon appears bigger when it's in different places in the sky, just look at the end of the episode when Clara sees it at night. That's artistic license obviously, but it similar to real life when you see it near the horizon. It appears bigger, but nothing has really changed, you just have something to more easily compare it against.

There are good episodes and there are less good episodes. There are a couple of really bad episodes. But Kill the Moon is the only episode of DW that makes me angry, because it starts off so well and ends in an utter mess. It made me lose respect for both the Doctor and Clara, and the moral quandary is so ridiculous. Kill the Moon can fuck the fuck off.

Does anyone have google drive length for FULL LENGTH

Also, the alien that's smaller than the moon hatching then laying an egg that's bigger than itself is a problem that could've easily been solved before they started shooting the episode

Michael Jefferson

I think Clara's anger in this one is less of a crisis of faith, and more a betrayal of trust. This is one of, if not the most important situation she's ever had to deal with and The Doctor, her best friend who's always supposed to have her back, just leaves her there alone. It's not like a "Make this decision for me" thing, it's a "When I needed emotional support the most, you left me hanging on a choice that could decide the fate of all of humanity all for some sort of test"

Michael Jefferson

There is an abortion metaphor here somewhere...

Oh....this one. So bad I actually stopped watching Doctor Who for a few months after watching it.

Tasker Thorn

yeh this episode kinda sucked

MrSkarred

Kind of ironic with what is really happening with the moon at the moment

This episode isn't great, but it's not the worst episode ever. As with Forest, it has great acting from Jenna and Peter, the location shots are awesome, it's just that the written story fails to deliver. I'd watch this any day over some of the other 'bad' episodes.

The Doctor

The guys took this about as well as one should I think. Finally a pay off to Aaron's "Yikes" to self in that DW reaction forever ago in relation to the moon. I don't recall what episode they were watching when he made that secret aside to the camera, but it was good to finally get that pay off.

Teek

The farting aliens in s1, cat people???, Love and Monsters, the Earth’s core is a spider, pigs and Daleks in Manhattan(???), whatever was going on with the Master in the End of Time...all individually so much more ridiculous than this ep...At least this one has great production value and fantastic performances and compelling scenes from the doctor and companion. It’s really not that bad. Weak premise and poor science, at worst.

G G

I don't think I've ever seen the crew be so puzzled by an episode. It's like they needed a hour break before being able to decide how they felt about it.

Doby Greg

I never really understood why people absolutely hated this one, the location shots are cool, the setting is fun and creepy, Peter and Jenna are on top form... Sure the conclusion is a little silly, but in a show with time travel and all kinds of other wonderfully ridiculous nonsense, the moon being an egg is too much for you?

FaultyHammock

Fantastic acting by Jenna Coleman in THAT scene. Glad her acting is appreciated here and that they all respected Clara’s feelings and understood where she was coming from.

G G

I enjoy this episode. Yeah, the premise is silly and it handles some of its messages awkwardly, but it's fun and got some good performances, and I enjoy the Clara/Doctor dynamic here which furthers everything that's been building between them this series.

Dale Denton

It's stupid

Herberderber

I am looking forward to the next episode. It is is a pretty enjoyable one.

Doby Greg

Absolutely correct. This one just suffers from stretching disbelief just that little too far and by having the wrong ending. 'Forest' is irredeemably poor with a moral at its heart which is utterly repugnant.

Jennifer Diaz

we ACCEPT it.

STEAMY_DA_GOD

People really shitting on the episode calling it "the worst episode Evvar!"... Y'all seem to have forgotten episode 10 of this season which is the ACTUAL worst ever episode of Doctor Who (that's not an opinion, that's an Objective Fact™) This episode is fine overall. it's pretty decent up until the uhh... 'reveal', and features some really good acting from Jenna Coleman at the end.

Oh. And i was so excited for a new Doctor Who reaction...

Happy Birthday! And Im so sorry.

CrossZ

At first I was annoyed that they uploaded it later than usual and I'd need to wait til after work to watch it... then I remembered what episode it was...

Ashley Jamieson

There's Love and monsters and some other bad ones. But it could be the worst of Moffat or this season. Personally I have more problems with the forest one. At least this one has some interesting dialogue I believe.

Doby Greg

Of course my Birthday is cursed enough for THIS episode to be released the same day!

AlexiMantic

Easily the worst episode of doctor who ever
