I think they bring back the bugs to elude to how in the mental world Mob realized that he was surrounded by good people, whereas Reigen isn't so much. The interesting thing about Reigen is that he's great at reading people, but not at connecting with them in a meaningful way and this is the focus of his arc throughout the series.
