Girl_dm is using a 3D model which is making use of another tracking software separate from 2D models. VTubeStudio which is the most used for 2D models, can't track as many mouth shapes. But it can track smile, frown, open, closed, tongue out, puffed cheeks, horizontal mouth movement. For both 3D and 2D however the artist still has to manually blend and animate all the shapes so it's not the tracking doing it in that sense. Rather the artist is telling the tracking what to do. But that's the extends VTubeStudio can function.
